Pierre Hardy

For his Fall/Winter 2017-18 collection, Pierre Hardy chose to focus on powerful designs. Leading this trend, the thick sole or heel Machina boot, will dress up your feet and add the perfect rebel touch to your look. But thin sandal fans can be reassured, the Majorelle comes in pink this season, just like the Obi pump, which has an additional bow that will definitely seduce the most girly of us. Discover Pierre Hardy shoes.

Pierre Hardy founded his eponymous luxury shoe brand in 1999. After an almost ten year experience in shoe design, the designer rapidly expanded his activities. In 2002, the French label launched a handbag line and a men’s shoe line. Four years later, the designer asserted his style by launching his first sneakers and collaborating with GAP for three exclusive designs. In November 2009, the Pierre Hardy brand became a member of the Comité Colbert, a great achievement for the designer. As a symbol of French luxury abroad, the brand opened its first flagship store in West Village, New York, before diversifying a bit more in 2013 when Pierre Hardy collaborated with the make-up brand NARS for a capsule collection.

Pierre Hardy, who was born in Paris in 1956, did not follow a conventional career path. Graduate in plastic arts from the Ecole Normale Supérieure of Cachan, the future shoe designer first started in the fashion industry in 1985 as an illustrator for Vanity Fair Italy and Vogue Hommes International. Between 1987 and 1990, he entered the Dior shoe department as a stylist, before joining Hermès in 1990, where he has been in charge of the creative direction of women's then men's shoes until now. In 1999, the shoe designer launched his eponymous brand but continues to work for other major fashion brands. Between 2001 and 2013, he also worked for Balenciaga with Nicolas Ghesquière. Rewarded many times, in 2015, Pierre Hardy was made Knight of the Légion d’Honneur.
